Still, for the short term, we know Coat of Many Colors will be enjoyed on an analog television set in what is called "letterbox" format (those black bars on top and bottom). Our mission was to capture many of Alabama's most interesting artists on a canvas that will withstand the ages. It was also our goal to convince PBS of this project's value to a national audience. We're pleased that many viewers across the country will see Coat of Many Colors via PBS digital channels.

Ultimately, the value of any production is based on the quality of the storytelling. We're lucky to have our own team of talented artists who tell provocative and thought-provoking stories through the documentary form. No matter what the medium, this would have been a great project, but thanks to the State Council on the Arts it's something special which will be enjoyed for many years to come.
