 | Our real goal is to create students who are well-rounded musically. They are versed not only in the classical masters, but they are also versed in different styles of music . . . I think what we are creating is not necessarily students who are going to go on to the conservatories and study and become the first chair cellists of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, but instead students who may go on to study music and become music educators and work to pass that appreciation on to another generation of students . . . And 20 or 30 or 40 years from now, they are going to be patrons of the musical industry, they will be the ones who are supporting their symphony orchestra or their local opera company and that sort of thing.
