Charlie Louvin & the Louvin Brothers

Sometimes, I think about the music and how long I've been in it. Our first gig was 1941 at a little 4th of July celebration in Flat Rock, Alabama … I'm glad that we did what we did. Some of it was so enjoyable that words wouldn't explain it, and some of it was as miserable as it gets. But you mix it all together, the good and the bad, and the good will outweigh the bad. I'm glad we went this way. It afforded me the ability - other than just being a laborer. That's definitely what my brother and I - we loved the music. You know there's no such thing as work if you're doing something that you enjoy. And we enjoyed music, so we never did look at it as a job.
